Personnel management is an administrative specialisation that focuses on hiring and developing employees to become valuable to the organisation (Bondarouk, Trullen, and Valverde, 2016). Management of personnel can be characterised as a satisfied workforce being achieved, used, and maintained (Sheehan, Garavan & Carbery, 2014). It constitutes an essential aspect of the management of employees in the organisation and their connection. According to Schroeder (2012, p.4), personnel management is achieved to help organisational, individual, and social goals, as the planning, organisation, offsetting, and maintaining of people. Vargas et al. (2018, p. 3052) add that personnel management is the element that primarily deals with human organisational resources. Management of personnel covers job, development, and compensation functions. In consultation with other departments, the personnel management performs these functions principally (Vargas et al., 2018, p. 3053)

They tell us that to maintainhonest relations with others we must first be true to ourselves. Yet if Laerteswere to be totally honest with himself, he would realize that his father may aswell have told him to catch the wind. After all, to which “self” are we to be true?Is it the one that shows up when we’re in a bad mood, or the one that is presentwhen we feel humbled by our mistakes? Is it the one who speaks from the darkrecesses of the heart when we’re depressed or upset, or the one that appearsduring those fleeting moments when life seems so fanciful and light?From these questions we see that the concept of “self” may turn out to be abit more elusive than initially presumed. Perhaps if Laertes could have turned totraditional psychology, it would have shed some light on the subject. Freud(1927), the father of psychology, divided the psyche into three parts: the id, theego, and the superego. He saw the id as our primal, animal nature; the superegoas the judgment system that society has instilled within us; and the ego as ourrepresentative to the outside world that struggles to maintain a balance betweenthe other two powerful forces. But this certainly would not have helped youngLaertes. After all, to which of these conflicting forces are we to be true?Again we see that things are not always as simple as they seem. If we dare tolook past the surface of the term “self,” questions arise that many people wouldrather not ask: “Are the many aspects of my being all equally part of my ‘self,’or is there only one of me—and if so, which, where, how, and why?”In the following chapters, we will undertake a journey of exploration of“self.” But we will not do so in a traditional manner. We will neither call uponthe experts in psychology, nor upon the great philosophers. We will not argueand choose between time-honored religious views, or resort to statisticallysupported surveys of people’s opinions. We will, instead, turn to a single sourcethat has phenomenal direct knowledge on the subject. We will turn to one expertwho, for every moment of every day of their life, has been collecting the datanecessary to finally put this great inquiry to rest. And that expert is you.

Work-life integration and female lecturers’ task performance in higher educational institutions in imo state

This study examined work-life integration and female lecturers’ tasks performance in government-owned higher educational institutions in Imo state. The correlational research design was adopted for the study. Two research questions were answered while two hypotheses were tested. The population of the study comprised 1292 female lecturers in government-owned higher educational institutions in Imo State. The sample size of the study was determined using Taro Yamane formula. Proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used to draw 406 respondents from the strata. Two sets of instruments titled; Female Lecturers’ Work-Life Integration Questionnaire (FLWLIQ) and Female Lecturers’ Task Performance Questionnaire (FLTPQ) were used for data collection. Face and content validities were ensured by experts including the researcher’s supervisor. The reliability coefficient of the FLWLIQ and FLTPQ was calculated to be 0.97 and 0.95 with the help of Cronbach Alpha. Multiple and simple regressions were used to answer the research questions. ANOVA associated with multiple regression and t-test associated with simple regression were used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. It was found that self-management skills and effective communication system predict female lecturers’ tasks performance by 54% in government-owned higher educational institutions in Imo state. Based on the findings, it was concluded that work-life integration is positively and moderately significant to female lecturers’ tasks performance in higher educational institutions in Imo state. It was therefore recommended among others that; management of tertiary institutions in Imo state should consider the establishment of constructive outlets for female lecturers to vent any form of inconveniences that is inimical to their job functioning so as to reduce tension. Also, management in each of the institutions should communicate staff duties in an effective manner by setting up active communication channels in each faculty.

Materials and Methods: In this study, 23 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated from clinical specimens. for review Resistance of these bacteria to penicillin antibiotics was used by Kirby-Bauer method. The minimum concentration C.I.M. (and minimum lethal concentrations (C.B.M.) of antibiotics and heavy metals (cadmium, mercury) and arsenate Tubal dilution, agar and growth were performed in agar plate, respectively. Results: In this study, the highest and lowest MIC values obtained in Pseudomonas aeruginosa for metals, respectively. * 8 and 3 cadmiums (0.6 and 4.9 μg / ml), mercury (<0.12 and 4 μg / ml) and arsenate (10 × were 256 μg / ml). Of 23 strains, 84% to the antibiotic carbonicillin, 63% to piperacillin and 100% to 103 Arsenic and cadmium were resistant. Also, 82.6% of the strains were resistant to mercury. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains have multiple resistance to arsenic, metals and the antibiotics are car penicillin and piperacillin.
