Bilgin Metin first received a B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey. Later, he worked for leading companies in the private sector and handled the design and installation of computer networks and cybersecurity projects. He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul. During his M.Sc. and PhD studies, he worked as a consultant in the private sector for designing, implementing, and supporting data communications and cybersecurity projects such as the LAN and cybersecurity infrastructure of the International Terminal of Antalya Airport in Turkey. In 2007, He started to work as an assistant professor for the Management Information Systems Dept. at Bogazici University. He received the title of Assoc. Professor in 2014 and Professor in 2021. His multi-disciplinary research interests include cybersecurity, Information technology and privacy governance, and electronic design for information and communication systems. He has more than 100 publications in international journals and conferences. Prof. Bilgin Metin has been involved in the organization committee of many national and international conferences, such as ELECO (Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering) between 2012 and ECIS 2016 (European Conference of Information Systems 2016). He is the academic director and management board member of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) İstanbul Chapter and Turkish Information Systems Association. Prof. Bilgin Metin holds OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CDPSE (Certified Data Privacy Solution Engineer), ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, Turkish Standards Institution Registered Penetration Test Expert certifications. He is currently also the head of the Bogazici University MIS Cybersecurity Center since 2017. Also, He is the head of the Management Information Systems Department at Bogazici University. He is carrying out national and international projects, also giving training and consultancy to various national and international institutions.
